School for me is just really crazy and incredibly busy that the blog just sort of got pushed down way at the bottom on my list of priorities. My last night of summer. Tomorrow I move back to campus. Time to start the new era of being a Junior. oh boy. Not sure I'm ready to be bomboarded with homework once again, but i guess I dont have a choice...

Sad i couldnt join in the celebrations of Fashion's Night Out in NY. I'm sure it was grand. I'll probably post pictures from it sometime this week. Thats if I'm not dead yet from all the stress and work. gahh.

The pain, the heartache is difficult to get through, but hopefully these struggles will make me a stronger person in the end. Considering the past events occuring in my life right now, and the sudden change in weather as of late, i am SO ready to move on to the season of Fall. Pretty soon I'll be setting my sights on new motorcycle boots a la Diaz on the first picture, and comfy oversized knit sweaters which has become a recent obsession of mine. But not yet of course, I'll still keep it rolling the rest of the summer with my shorts, and crop tops :]
Yes, this summer has had its amazing times and I know i said i never wanted it to end but I've come to terms with the realization that soon, its time for me to go back to reality and focus on whats really important; myself and my future. Junior year is looming close by and soon I will be embarking on the journey towards college, SATs, and my 17th birthday.
Its true, I have been ahem, distracted by certain things or people, i should say, but I'm proud to say that unlike before, I have been able to snap back to my old self and get right back to business. It will not be paradise, thats for sure, but unfortunetly, most of my vacation here is done. For the mean time however, I do plan to enjoy every bit of time left I have of summer. As much as a 16 year old with overprotective parents can anyway.

Its scary how fast this summer is flying by. I'm incredibly afraid of junior year starting this september. I'm dreading it.

It really sucks because I've had such an amazing time this summer and now its all ending and changing and soon I will be back to same ol' prep school, breaking my back every night to finish my homework. What a dreary life.

While browsing through street style blogs, you know, the ushe (usual), I came to the realization that it would pretty damn awesome to be walking along the street one day and be approached by a stranger and have ur photo taken for a street style blog. I mean, it could happen right? Theres so many of them out there nowadays!

Hey all. Hope you all had a lovely fourth of july weekend. Mine was okay, but could have been better if i werent so sick these past few days. I think i'm feeling better now though and hopefully I'm good as new by Tuesday which is when i start work! I'm quite excited. I also found out an old friend i havnt seen in four years will be coming soon to visit me. Should be interesting.

Another thing; IM GETTING A HAIRCUT! My haircut will be like the ones above, an angled bob right at my shoulders. I'm pretty nervous, I've never cut it this short before, but im definitely ready for a change and im so ready to chop it all off during this hot hot summer. Hope it comes out okay!!

Chilling on the Rooftop

There's just something exhilarating about being on a rooftop. Perhaps its the fact that you're so high up above the people and the cars down below, like you're on top of the world. Everything down below looks so tiny, miniature. The clouds and the sky up above seem dramatically bigger and closer, almost overwhelming. You feel as if the sky can swallow you up whole. The summer breeze lifts you up above the ground, like you're flying freely above the bustling city down below. The view of the city is even better up there; you feel up to level with the tall towering buildings that normally would make you feel meaningless and minuscule. Its a different world up there, a whole different view and a whole different feel.

Today was spent tanning on my friends roof. The view was great, the feeling was great.

For some reason i woke up today at an unacceptable early time on my first morning of my FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!
IM FREE AT LAST!
No more prep school for another 3 months..yes..

It was a bittersweet moment but in the end, I'm happy to get away and have some fun :)
I'll be working at the art museum here in the city which I'm pretty excited for and hoping maybe i can get another job going?
And my mother mentioned perhaps a trip to Las Vagas and California. Which is pretty cool but when going with your mom....not so cool...Oh well :P
Oh and countless of trips to the beach are in store, and maybe i'll hit up the vineyard one day. Not to mention going canoeing with my best friend and her crazy family. woooo.

Yes! I leave tomorrow and my only exam left is spanish!
I'm currently in the middle of packing, and clearing out the room. I have accumulated so many things over the school year-especially clothes.
Things have been left a little complicated here at school but when are they not? I'm glad I will be able to escape it all very soon :)
Right when I return back home, i have many plans. yay!

Oh, and i got the Forever 21 dress in the mail-FINALLY. I must say, I'm a tad bit disappointed at how it fits. okay, actually im VERY disappointed. I love the cutout design, but on me, it sags in wierd places, and the waistline is a little strange on me. I'm going to have to get it fitted.....=/

The photographer for Jak and Jill really has a knack for taking breathtakingly beautiful shots. I'm loving these so much. I adore the colors in the first one, and the second one really makes me wish i had a silky shirt just like it.

Currently studying for finals!
I've decided that I'm not going to stress and worry so much about finals. Obviously I'm going to try my best but honestly, i just want to get them over with. There are way more important things in life than grades. Ok so i dont get straight As here in this prep school, but so what? Grades dont define me nor my intelligence.

summer is so close....literally like 4 more days. :)
Come to think of it, ending school will be a huge change cause I'm so used to this campus but I'm ecstatic for the break from everyone. I hope that over the summer i have time to reflect, think, and figure things out.

And i don't regret it too. Its perfect for summer and i love the cutout design. I don't usually wear pink...but this is such a pretty pale pink and I'm willing to go for softer colors this summer :)

Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries Ended! Personally, i thought the Gossip Girl finale was a little too ridiculous. But oh how i miss Vampire Diaries and Ian Somerhalder [Damon] and his smoldering hotness :P

Praise Jesus its friday, seriously! This week has been extremely tough, and the work is still not over yet.I have much to do this weekend but also some fun stuff ahead of me. I'll prob. hit up the battle of the bands tonight and before that, probably chill on the great lawn. ITS BEAUTIFUL OUT TODAY! :)
Even though my teachers insist on piling on the work these last weeks, the closer i get to the end, the more excited i get for summer. I have so much planned for this summer and I'm totally going to make it the BEST SUMMER EVER. Last summer...I really should have done more. Overall, it was a bad summer and alot of it was because my stupid self was mulling over a boy. Not going to commit that mistake again. I'm really aiming to have the time of my life but be productive at the same time.
But for now, must finish my 10th grade year :)

Its Wednesday. Its still penultimate week (before finals). I am still suffering from a nasty cold (Im having coughing spasms as i write this). Its still raining. And I have eaten pizza for lunch AND dinner.

Very uneventful weekend. I opted in staying in yesterday; I was sorta fed up with people here. It happens quite often.
I wrote a song, and tried to create a tune for it on the guitar but that was a total fail. ugh i suck miserably at the guitar its kind of sad. But i love it anyway...
Woke up with a HORRIBLE throat ache, and the usual sunday blues: dreading the next day, monday.
Its almost the end of the year but first: a math test, a chem test, and FINALS including a 16+ page term paper. Killl meeeeee.

Today was a good day. I had my writing published in the school newspaper today. Its my first ever published piece and even though it may not seem like a big deal, my school newspaper is kind of a big deal. I mean, basically anyone can submit something, but not everyone. It is possible to not get your work published at all if the newspaper board doesn't like it. I got a positive response, especially from my house counselor who really loved it, and who could relate to it, and hearing that actually made my day. It means a lot to me when my writing affects people.
First picture, its my side of the room, and the second is the slightly disheveled side that belongs to my roommates. Usually i dont post pictures that show my environment, for fear that someone from my school will go on and instantly recognize me. I dont know, I just dont tell anyone about this blog for some reason. Its not that much of a personal blog, but in a way, it is purely me and i guess I dont want people to judge me. I'm sort of pathetic that way.

Notes to Self (On being a healthier, more positive and happier person):
- Eat more healthy. Less greasy foods, more colorful foods. Drink lots of water everyday.
- Do not ever dwell on what others may think of you. Just let yourself be.
- Take chances. Have fun. Don't hold back, be spontaneous.

I have to go back on campus today after a pretty delightful stay at home.

Its funny, this year I have more fun at home than i do at school. Tonight I'll be studying for chemistry and writing a rough draft for an essay. Love my life...

Lovely spring term

This weekend has been perfect. Friday, esp. saturday and today are truly wonderful days. Sunny, not too hot, occasionaly a nice breeze comes along.
As I walk through the campus, I see the main lawn dotted with various students sprawled on the grass, enjoying the sun, the guys tossing a frisbee, or playing football.
Today I plan to sit out there, attempting to get my homework done which by the way is quite alot since i didnt bother starting it yesterday since it was way too nice out.

I'm finally back! I feel really out of it, in terms of the staying uptodate in the blogosphere even though its only been a bit over a week.
I have alot of blog reading to catch up on.
I still dont have my computer back, im not gonna have it back till next week. For now, I'm using a lender computer from my school's library. It sucks because i dont have a my blogs on my saved favorites and i just feel soo unorganized. But I'll deal.

I'm back at school, and spring term has been pretty good so far. Yeah, it rains alot, but there are some realllly beautiful days. This weekend will be in the 70s which is just perfect.

Yesterday was my first day on spring break and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it was one of the most eventful nights of my life. Hello!
I havn't posted since the weekend cause i've been studying LIKE CRAZY. Although my finals this term werent that overwhelming, I still studied like a lunatic for Chemistry because I wanted to actually get a good grade for it. And you know what? I think i will :)
Mostly though, I'm just happy that I'm pretty much done with my exams. Tomorrow i just need to meet with my english teacher and i get to go home, so I'm in a great mood. I'm so excited to start spring break even though I'm not doing anything terribly interesting. Just staying in the city, same as usual. But I love the city, so..shouldnt be that bad.

There has been much talk amidst the Fashion World about 13-year old blogger sensation Tavi Gevinson. Like most people who are put under the public eye, there has been quite alot of criticism being aimed at Gevinson.
For a middle schooler who has thousands of readers a day flock to her blog, "Style Rookie", who has been invited to attend countless of fashion shows,( sitting in the front row no less!), has been styled and shot for LOVE magazine, and recieves fashion gifts or freebies on the daily; its been no surpise for me that the public has opened their big mouths and put in their two cents about this rather controversial issue.
Is it fair that this inexperienced 13-year old blogger has been seated front row at fashion shows when countless of other hard working interns/budding journalists with years of education and experience are watching from the rows behind? This my friend, is a prime example of the Bloggers vs. Editors war, but is it actually wrong for bloggers to be given some of the fashion perks? And are we all really getting worked up over a 13-year old?
No one wants to be called out for talking smack about a innocent middle schooler who genuinely seems to loves fashion, but does she actually know what kind of world and industry shes getting herself into? Maybe, maybe not. But it is safe to say that for like any other internet celebrity icon,(remember Cory Kennedy?) you get you're 20 seconds of fame and then- time's up, shows over. Not to say that I want to see Tavi crash and burn for my own cruel enjoyment, but it's how things work around here. How long will this Tavi mania continue?
I for one, am torn between loving and disliking this pint sized icon. On one hand, shes incredibly witty, intelligent, and has a great love for fashion. On the other hand, I dont believe that it's fair for others who are much wiser and older than she, are not getting half the attention and perks she gets.
What is your opinion?

Its been a tough week so far, so much work and yesterday i had a constant headache, and today I didnt feel so well so i had to skip out on math class which means i'm probably going to be behind...joy.
The dance on saturday was fun. And thats all I honestly have to say about it. It wasnt horrible, and i had a good time, but nothing huge or eventful happened. Story of my life right now...

Last time i posted, i was in a pretty bad mood, but today I'm in a pretty good one. Today is a nice day, calm and brisk weather. Relatively sunny. The weather definitely affects my mood. Not to mention my mini cold is gone, only lasted for like 2 days :). Maybe it was the flu shot I got a month ago that helped. Anyway, I recieved some pretty excellent news yesterday; IM GOING TO SPAIN THIS SUMMER!!
I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up completely because there are still some details needed to be worked out, but...ahhh. I'm halfway there :)

Alexa Chung's collaboration with Madewell

According to WWD.com, Alexa is set to release a collaboration line with the J.Crew owned label, Madewell. Its quite sad that her show was canceled by MTV, but this seems to be her new upcoming project which is said to feature "polka dotted tea dress, high waisted skinny jeans, wool jackets detailed with lace". Basically her own personal style.
I believe the looks will come out looking fantastic, but I feel like her style would best fit a collaboration with say, TopShop.
Usually I dont really like collaborations like the whole Lindsay Lohan and Ungaro situation, and quite personally I did not like any of the pieces from the Rodarte for Target, but this one seems pretty legitimate.

Winter Term-Inspirationless

I Find it much harder to find inspiration during the winter time and the cold dreary month of january. My dislike for winter is not as bad as it was last year, but it is beginning to get to me, especailly when I look at pictures that remind me of summer and there grows my longing for warmth.
I suppose the only thing I look forward to each day are my friends and the guitar. Not that im any good but I'm excited about it because I'm trying to learn the Kooks song, "Naive", my favorite song of theirs.

As always, I am missing the sights, the sounds, and the adventure of the city. But instead here i am, stuck in the suburbia of this town, in the dead of winter, forced to hit the books, instead of hitting the shops or restaurants. Speaking of shopping, cant do that for a while since I have to pay for my guitar lessons at the end of this term, plus I sort of went overboard on my bank account while online shopping. fml.

Deep thoughts: $The Fashion Industry$

In English class today, my class was dissecting the poem "The world is too much with us" by William Wordsworth, and as we were discussing it, I sort of had an epiphany.
The poem talks about how in the speaker's world, everyone is consumed by materialism and all anyone ever does is "getting and spending".
It made me think about the fashion world and the fashion industry, and I realized that the fashion world is basically all about materialism and consumerism.Its all about buying the season's hottest looks, spending heaps upon heaps of money on superficial things. And all companies ever want from us, the consumers, is our money. Well most of them anyway. Don't get me wrong, I love fashion. I love having the freedom to express my personality through the clothes I wear, and I love the feeling of creating an outfit that I look and feel fantastic in. But its actually and quite honestly such a superficial career path compared to other people who dedicate their lives to saving lives or helping others, or preserving the earth. But in a way, it is not always so superficial because fashion to some, is really a form of art. But there is no doubt about it that some people out in this cutthroat world of the fashion industry are not just in it for the "art". It becomes a necessity to own different colors of the same shoe, or two closets full of clothes when some people have nothing. But I'll stop with the guilt trip and the hypocrisy because I myself, have been consumed with the desire for more shoes, or more clothes. Its just something to think about, and some thoughts that have been occurring to me. Again, I am not against Fashion but with all these things have been happening like the Earthquake in Haiti, America's economy as of now, and the fact that I managed to have negative dollars in my bank account just made me stop and think. Hope I did the same thing to you.

Here i am, grinning uncontrollably because im in such an EXCELLENT mood :)
Perhaps its because the week has started out disaster free,(that's always a good thing) or that I do not have that much homework to do, or that my guitar lessons start tomorrow, or that I completely and totally DID NOT fail my Chemistry test today!!! OR MAYBEE perhaps its because i just ordered a totally awesome pair of laceup boots online right now, free overnight shipping!!!!!! yayyy.
I was ABOUT to order the ones from New Look, but they were already sold out!! :(
So i ordered some Steve Madden ones, that I'm totally excited to get tomorrow.

So right now I just came back from gym class where i just ran a mile and half. Miraculously I'm feeling pretty good right now, I have some good energy, I just took a shower and I'm chilling in my dorm.
